Amble through the heart of the Mother City and learn of its colourful history.
This is a great opportunity to explore many of Cape Town’s world-famous attractions, heritage sites and architectural wonders with a leisurely stroll through the lively city centre.
Our walking tour will take you to the historic Company Gardens, Grand Parade, Castle of Good Hope and magnificent City Hall as well as introduce you to domineering statues. Along the route, you’ll pass the once ominous Church Square, the original Slave Lodge and then the esteemed parliamentary buildings. From there, we will find our way to the colorful Bo-Kaap area, the original Muslim settlement of Cape Town and an area famed today for its quaint, colourful houses.
We then enjoy a 40min walking tour of Bo-Kaap and discover the local cuisine, culture and culinary history of the Cape Malay people.
You will then enjoy a 3 course Cape Malay meal served at a local home in the area. (For the lunch a minimum of 6 people is required, maximum of 20 per group). Alternatively lunch will be at a local African themed resturaunt.
After lunch we will explore the green oasis in the middle of the city (Green Market Square) and the bustling Long street. You will have the opportunity to shop at local markets, art & craft shops and visit a local antique market.
