The southern tip of the Cape Peninsula is occupied by the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve (Part of the Table Mountain National Park), with its 7750 hectares of rich fynbos vegetation and 40 kilometers of rugged coastline, it boasts some magnificent scenery.Mammals to be seen include the Chacma Baboon, Bontebok, Grey Rhebok, Red Hartebeest, Eland, Cape Mountain Zebra to name a few.

Cape Point has an intriguing, albeit somewhat sombre, maritime history, and the shipwreck trails at Cape Point take you to the heart of the action. The shoreline is littered with wrecks from years gone by, and while major shipping accidents along this coastline are thankfully a thing of the past, their presence on the peninsula’s beaches make for a fascinating journey into an altogether different era. The walking trails offer unparalleled views into this turbulent time in Cape Point’s history, and are worth exploring.

Itinerary

07h00- Depart Cape Town. Enjoy a scenic drive along the Atlantic seaboard towards Hout Bay. Drive along Chapmans Peak Drive (one of the most scenic drives in the world). 09h00-arrive at the Nature Reserve to start the Shipwreck Trail (2 Hours).11h30- Visit Cape of Good Hope (the most south western tip of the African continent) and take a walk up to the Cape Point Lighthouse to enjoy the stunning views. Lunch can be enjoyed at the restaurant (optional). 14h30 - Visit African penguins at Boulders Beach. 15h00 - Depart back to Cape Town. Arrive at your hotel at 16h00.
